Endowed with these six qualities, a person is incapable of alighting on the lawfulness, the rightness of skillful mental qualities even when listening to the true Dhamma. Which six?

When the Doctrine & Discipline declared by the Tathagata is being taught,

Khi Pháp và Luật được Như Lai thuyết giảng,

He does not listen well,

Không ưa nghe

He does not give ear

Không có lóng tai

He does not apply his mind to gnosis.

Không có an trú tâm liễu giải,

He grabs hold of what is worthless.

Nắm giữ điều không lợi ích

He rejects what is worthwhile

Bỏ qua điều lợi ích

And is not endowed with the patience to conform with the teaching.

Không thành tựu tùy thuận nhẫn nhục.

Khi Pháp và Luật được Như Lai thuyết giảng,

He listens well,

Có ưa nghe

He gives ear

Có lóng tai

He applies his mind to gnosis.

An trú tâm liễu giải,

He grabs hold of what is worthwhile.

Nắm giữ điều lợi ích

He rejects what is worthless

Bỏ qua điều không lợi ích

And is endowed with the patience to conform with the teaching.

Thành tựu tùy thuận nhẫn nhục.
